Local interest is growing as the Supply Chain & Logistics Group (SCLG) gets ready to hold the Second Global Logistics & SCM Strategy Summit 2009 at the Westin Hotel Mina Seyahi on 6th May. With 18 veteran speakers and 36 panellists, the main theme will be the different strategies for business excellence through effective supply chains.

Over 150 delegates are expected to convene at the summit, where discussions about education, awareness about how to tackle current issues, maximising profit, supply chain management, branding and networking will take place.

"We are targeting C-level professionals and experts in the supply chain and logistics field, together with government departments who use supply chain management widely," said Shashi Shekhar, founding president of SCLG, who was talking to LogisticsMiddleEast.com.

The speakers at the event include Aramex's Fredrik Lindblad, SPAN Group's Kamel El-Ghossaini, Agility's Jurgen Hirsch and former Dubai Logistics City CEO Michael Proffitt.
