Abu Dhabi Logistics Park to open doors in 2009
Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) has confirmed that the airport’s new Logistics Park will open its doors to its first tenants during the course of this year, with the full project scheduled for completion by 2015.
The announcement was made at Hanover Fair 2009, in Germany, where ADAC showcased a scale model of the park’s facilities, showing, in particular, its location adjacent to the airport and near to the upcoming Khalifa Port.
Once ready for operations, the park will offer tenants a wide choice of facilities, from light industrial units in various designs and locations, to commercial offices and plots of land for customised development to meet investors’ specific business requirements.
“The Logistics Park is being developed in phases to ensure there is enough space for improvement to cater for investors' growing requirements,” said Khalifa Al Mazrouei, chairman of ADAC.
“Through its establishment, ADAC aims to help stimulate economic growth and create opportunities for local companies and international organisations to access the UAE market and the extended Gulf region,” Al Mazrouei added.
Mazrouei also stated that ADAC had received enquiries for more facilities that it had planned to offer this year, and had received strong interest from both international and local members of the MRO, logistics and forwarding community.
