All-cargo major Cargolux is all set to launch a new weekly B747-400 freighter frequency to the Canadian city of Toronto.

The scheduled service provides main-deck trans-Atlantic capacity and also allows new options for the transportation of dangerous and oversize goods. Cargolux’s move is a reflection of the buoyant economic development taking place in the province of Ontario.

Cargolux already serves Canada via its twice-weekly service to Calgary, and it also has a market presence in Quebec and Ontario as a result of its GSA, Hermes.

“We are very happy to welcome Cargolux to Toronto Pearson”, said Lloyd McCoomb, president and CEO of the Greater Toronto Airports Authority.

“There is a high demand for additional cargo service in Toronto and we are pleased to be able to respond to the needs of the businesses in the Greater Toronto Area, providing them with on-time and dependable shipping solutions,” McCoomb added.
