Rolls-Royce will provide engines for Singapore-based no-frills carrier Tiger Airways, in a deal worth US$100 million.

The V2500 engine will power a new fleet of eight Airbus A320-family twinjets, in addition to a further eight aircraft it already owns.

The International Aero Engines (IAE) consortium, in which Rolls-Royce is a senior shareholder, makes the V2500.

IAE includes United Technologies Corp unit Pratt & Whitney, the Japanese Aero Engines Corporation and German group MTU Aero Engines Holding AG.
