Orange provides technology solution to UASC
Orange Business Solutions has implemented its latest technology solutions to connect the global offices of United Arab Shipping Company (UASC).
In total, the Kuwait-based shipping line has linked 28 sites around the world using a wide area network (WAN) solution from Orange Business Solutions, including 10 locations in the Middle East. As a result, its employees can now access a range of critical business applications, via a central data centre in Singapore, without compromising on the security of its corporate network.
“UASC is expanding and moving towards a strategy of IT centralisation to support our growing business,” said Paul Vaughan, CIO of United Arab Shipping Company. “We needed a total infrastructure solution that was secure and scalable, allowing us to deploy the type of business applications that will revolutionise our business model.”
Orange Business Services, a key brand of France Telecom, secured the multi-million-dollar contract for its ability to provide a flexible solution with the capability to add new services, such as VOIP, in the future.
“We are pleased to be working with one of the largest ocean carriers in the Middle East,” said Lionel Reina, vice president of Orange Business Services in Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa. “The agreement with UASC is very significant because it’s based in a core market that is growing very strongly and driving double digit growth in revenues for us in this region.”
