Gulftainer recently welcomed the Hyundai Brave to Khorfakkan Container Terminal (KCT) in Sharjah.

The vessel, which measures 339 metres in length, is amongst the first ships to be introduced by Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) into the French Asia Line (FAL) service, operated by CMA-CGM between Europe and Asia.

"HMM is a giant in the world of business and has strong representation in the Gulf region," commented Peter Richards, director and general manager, Gulftainer.

"Welcoming the Hyundai Brave was an important occasion for KCT and we had to ensure that operational performance matched the usual high standards, allowing the ship to be handled quickly and effectively to keep her on schedule."

According to Richards, the container terminal achieved productivity figures of 155 moves per hour, meaning the ship could depart on schedule to the Far East.

The fact that we are able to maintain these standards at a time when there is concern about the ability of terminals in this region being able to cope with increased volumes is a particular accomplishment," he added.
