Industry titans get behind Leaders in Logistics Conference
The Leaders in Logistics conference has a long history of bringing together some of the greatest minds in the local logistics sector to discuss the big issues of the day. Because of this reputation, it is also a premier event at which the best service providers in the industry are invited to showcase their solutions to the audience and speakers.
“Leaders in Logistics is one the premier gatherings of logistics professionals in Dubai. A great opportunity to discuss the latest issues, developments and innovations directly with those that know,” says Ruth Waugh, international business development director, Twintec Middle East. As an exhibitor, Twintec will for the first time in the region unveil its Twintec Ultimate and Twintec VRS products at the conference.
“Twintec is showcasing the latest innovations in floor slab design for logistics warehouses, demonstrating how it impacts significantly on the overall life cost of the facility,” adds Waugh. Another leading exhibitor, Swisslog, says that being present at the Leaders in Logistics Conference will provide it with the information necessary to continue to develop products for the sector.
“It is important to us that we are able to develop innovative solutions that are both practical and cost-effective. Discussing the challenges and requirements of industry with businesses at events like this, play a crucial role in our ability to understand trends in the market,” explains Alain Kaddoum, general manager, Swisslog Middle East, Dubai. “We also benefit from being able to meet senior logistics and supply chain professionals and hopefully learn from other thought leaders in the region.”
Kaddoum says that he is most interested in hearing more about the impact of digitisation at the conference. “Industry 4.0, digitalisation, automation and robotics – each is an area already beginning to exert an influence and will continue to do so in the coming years,” he says. “The UAE has an excellent opportunity to a technology and innovation leader, and it needs the logistics industry to be there to back up those efforts.”
Exhibitor PTV MENA agrees that the conference is the perfect setting in which to learn more about the industry’s needs. “PTV Group has been present in the GCC for almost 15 years; and we believe that in Leaders in Logistics Summit will provide us the correct support in understanding the industry’s required innovation to move towards Transport Logistics Optimisation,” says Nektarios Triantafyllidis, regional director, logistics, Middle East, PVT MENA. As a leader in Transport Logistics solutions, PTV is most interested in learning more about optimisation at the conference.
“To be able to meet individual customers' requirements, transports must be carried out in an efficient and precise manner. Transport chains are becoming increasingly dynamic. To recognize absences and variations quickly and transparently, you face the challenge of optimally shaping, managing and monitoring your transports in real-time,” says Triantafyllidis.
For Ehrhardt + Partner Solutions, the conference provides insight into how the major logistics companies are trying to compete with another. “The logistics companies are trying to outdo each other. Faster, more flexible, more punctual – that is Logistics 4.0. All processes along the value added chain are connected,” says Makrem Kadachi, general manager, Middle East, EPS. “The interaction with the customer results in a new, transparent type of logistics in which the customer can view the shipment status at any time and, if required, intervene in the process chain, even after having placed the order.”
“It is important to us to have such opportunity to discuss new challenges, where the warehouse is going to and figuring out the requirements of industry with businesses at events like this, it plays a decisive role in our ability to understand trends in the market,” Kadachi adds. “We also benefit from being able to meet senior logistics and supply chain professionals.”
For Almajdouie Logistics, another exhibitor at the event, the conference is a way for them to stay close to their market. “Almajdouie Logistics has led by example, exceeding customers’ expectations and providing reliable and cost-efficient solutions to major industries. Events such as the Leaders in Logistics Summit help us to consolidate this approach and stay close to our markets,” says Oussama Abba, general manager, Middle East Operations.
The summit provides us an invaluable opportunity to network with other companies, exchange best practices, discuss the latest issues affecting the industry, and explore potential cooperation channels. Because Almajdouie Logistics likes to network with clients, its extremely important. “We believe that building and maintaining long-term relationships with our customers and partners is a pillar of our success. The summit is also an ideal platform to meet with existing and potential customers and showcase our innovative solutions,” he said.
Lanyard sponsor Hellmann Worldwide Logistics has recently announced a spate of new expansion initiatives and will be at the Leaders in Logistics Conference to find out more about regional infrastructure developments. “We have successfully launched our chemical joint venture, called the Hellmann Indu Chemical. E-commerce is coming up for Hellmann and healthcare is as innovative as it can get with Hellmann providing 2D ink-jet imprinting solution in the UAE,” says Madhav Kurup, CEO Hellmann Middle East. “Moreover, we recently had our 3rd healthcare facility expansion of 30,000 sq.ft.”
