Saudi Arabian logistics company Al Majdouie has signed a contract with Chinese freight forwarder Sinotrans to establish a joint venture in the Kingdom.

The newly established company will operate as Al Majdouie Sinotrans Middle East, providing services such as customs clearance, oversized cargo handling and inland transportation from its central office in Riyadh.

“We have worked with Sinotrans for the past three years in Saudi Arabia and successfully transported the equipment for five cement production lines on behalf of Sinoma International Engineering Group, delivering over 500,000 freight tonnes cargo to the site,” said Abdullah Al Majdouie, vice president of Al Majdouie Group. “This joint venture is a great opportunity to further strengthen our partnership,” he added.

A signing ceremony was recently held in Saudi Arabia to mark the establishment of Al Majdouie Sinotrans Middle East, attended by Sinotrans president Zhang Jianwei and company vice president Tao Suyun.

“This venture will have a strong presence in Middle East and North Africa region, bringing the best quality services to its customers,” Al Majdouie added. “Although we are starting in Saudi Arabia, we intend to gradually move the company towards other markets in the GCC and Middle East, while expanding operations in a qualitative manner.”
