Doha-bound plane forced to abort take-off at Lagos
Hundreds of passengers on Thursday were transferred to another aircraft after a Doha-bound Qatar Airways aircraft hit a bird while it was attempting to take-off.
The incident occurred around 3pm while the airliner was gathering speed for take-off at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
According to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, the flight crew aborted the take-off and the plane taxied back to the gate, where passengers were deplaned and alternative transport was arranged.
The aircraft was later parked for repair, while the airline brought a replacement aircraft to Lagos.
