Hala Supply Chain breaks ground on new Saudi warehouse
Hala Supply Chain recently celebrated a ground breaking ceremony of its new warehouse in Jeddah Industrial Area III.
Pieter Spaarwater, CEO, Hala Supply Chain, highlighted that the strategic investment in the 36,000 m2 facility is a clear commitment to the Saudi 2030 logistics vision of establishing KSA as a logistical hub, serving the need for a national distribution centre for imports, from Jeddah Islamic port and Jizan.
This facility is also strategically situated to serve Makkah, Spaarwater added.
The temperature controlled warehouse will feature racking 14m high and will further complement Hala's warehouse footprint across the country.
“We aim to offer an even better warehousing solution to our customers in the pharmaceutical and healthcare, oil & gas, petrochemical, FMCG & consumer goods, automotive and government sectors,” Hala said in a release.
The new facility is anticipated to commence operations in August 2017, with extended services beyond the traditional receiving and quality control. It will offer storage and inventory visibility on line, and time sensitive picking and checking within agreed service levels with clients.
The extended value added services and quality compliant to ISO 9001, SFDA, Civil Defense and other regulatory qualifications, will include amongst other re-works, kitting, packing, product preparation and assembly, and dangerous goods requirements within the modular chamber sizes of 5,000m2 each.
“Our showcase facility with its modular chambers also allows flexibility to our clients to the extent that our clients could showcase their goods similar to showroom, to their clients,” says Spaarwater.
This warehousing solution is part of Hala Supply Chain Services’ integrated supply chain solution, which includes comprehensive forwarding & clearing and transport solutions from and to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, from anywhere in the world.
