PCFC showcases smart logistics at GITEX
The Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) grabbed public attention through its 41 smart, highly-innovative initiatives showcased at GITEX 2016.
Dubai Customs presented 8 happiness-led initiatives and innovations: The Authorized Economic Operator, Smart Workspace, Smart Inspection Glasses, Smart Inspection Lab, Smart Virtual Agent, Smart Customs Route, Bags Smart Customs Inspection System and Endangered Species Exhibition.
DP World displayed Reefer Function Robot, a smart mobile robot that navigates reefer stacks and is able to plug and unplug power cables to the refer container, allowing employees to monitor the operations remotely and send various commands to the robot to be processed.
This improves operational efficiency, safety and the working environment. In addition, DP World also unveiled other initiatives such as Virtual Reality Video, Warehouse Function Robots, Quay Crane Commander Game, and Drones.
Jafza shared smart introductions including Jafza Smart Gates, Energy Saving, Jafza Mobile App, iJafza, Jafza sites Monitoring with Drones, Mawardi, and Virtual Tour.
Trakhes demonstrated a set of innovative initiatives, specifically NOC Services, Commercial Permits, Commericial Licensing Services, Government Visa Services, OFC/NAV Services, EHS Construction Permit Services, Civil Engineering Accreditation Services, Civil Engineering Permit Services, Finance Services, Mobile Website, and Trakhes Website.
Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCC) uncovered new initiatives and applications including Smart Exam, Dubai Maritime Intelligence, Smart Inspector, Smart DMCA, Smart Customer, and Smart Marine Traffic.
Dubai Trade, on its part, took part at the exhibition with two ambitious initiatives: Land Transportation Management System and Warehouse Booking System.
