Almajdouie Logistics won the 2016 ‘Logistics Project of the Year’ award for overcoming challenges in moving oversized break-bulk cargo for the development of Jazan Economic City, while Almajdouie De Rijke Logistics won ‘Material Handling Provider of the Year’.

The ‘Logistics Project of the Year’ award recognised Almajdouie’s continuous investments in overland transportation and in preparing staff for the future. The company raised the benchmark for excellence by using Oracle Transportation Management (OTM), a niche solution under the Oracle Value Chain Execution umbrella.

The award also recognised its support for EPC contractors, providing solutions for customs clearance, general cargo, containerised cargo, heavy cargo, performing abnormal and critical transportation jobs for Jazan Refinery, as well as conducting barge operations to Shuqaiq Power Plant for the objective of developing Jazan Economic City.

Concurrently, Almajdouie De Rijke Logistics won ‘Material Handling Provider of the Year’, coming in the same year as its 10th anniversary. The Saudi-Dutch enterprise focuses exclusively on providing supply chain services to the polymer and petrochemical industries.

Its collaborative framework throughout the end-to-end supply chain process, leading the complete integration in the pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up, impressed the judges.

This collaborative framework provides ‘visibility’ compared to the traditional supply chain relationships between customers and service providers, helping clients and LSPs share common goals of cost efficiency and high productivity.

The Supply Chain & Transport Awards (SCATA) is a celebration for outstanding logistics, air cargo and sea freight communities in the Middle East and is organised by ITP, the publisher of Arabian Supply Chain.com and Logistics Middle East Magazine.
