Oman Air and Cargolux expand Indian air freight

The joint venture agreement between Oman Air and Cargolux will introduce cargo flights to Mumbai following the successful launch of flights to Chennai.

The route will be operated twice per week from March 8. The first, CV6102, will operate a route from Luxembourg on Tuesdays to the Indian city, via Bahrain. Its return route, CV6113, will departs Mumbai for the European destination on Wednesdays and will fly via Muscat. The second service, CV6105, leaves Luxembourg on Fridays and is routed via Kuwait, before arriving in Mumbai on Saturday mornings. It will then go on to Muscat as CV6116, before continuing to Luxembourg.

Commenting on the launch Oman Air chief operating officer Abdulrahman Al Busaidy said: “The new service builds on the success of the second frequency to Chennai that we launched together in August last year. The new service will enable us to further strengthen our presence within the Indian market.”

Oman Air’s passenger fleet operates to 11 destinations in India, as well as to destinations in East Africa.

The airline aims to further expand its cargo operation and build on the range of cargo initiatives and innovations the airline has introduced over recent years.
