Etihad hires safety chief
Etihad has appointed a new vice president for safety, security and quality.
Mohamed Abubaker Farea joins the Abu Dhabi-based airline from the UAE's General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA). The former director brings with him a more than 20 years aviation experience.
Captain Richard Hill, Etihad Airways' executive vice president operations, said: "Mohamed's extensive experience in the aviation sector in this region will be a huge asset to our rapidly expanding airline.
Abubaker Farea, said: "As an Emirate national, I am proud to be given the opportunity to work for the national airline of the UAE. The growth of Etihad in such a short space of time has been nothing short of remarkable and I look forward to playing my own part in the airline's future development.
