All three Riyadh Metro consortia choose same train jack
The three consortia involved in the building of the six-line metro in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, have selected Pfaff-Silberblau, Germany, to supply train lifting equipment for installation in each of their new maintenance workshops.
The underfloor lifting systems and mobile jacks, designed to perform a synchronised lift of a complete metro train with a total weight of up to 144 tonnes, have an ergonomic working height, for train inspection and to change the bogies.
The Pfaff-Silberblau lifting systems meet the DIN EN 1493 European standard for vehicle lifting platforms.
Factory-acceptance testing of the lifting systems has already begun, with installation of the lifting systems and jacks scheduled to be completed by the end of 2016.
Operation in the workshops will be able to start as soon as they have been handed over and once staff training in Saudi Arabia has been completed. The completion of the Riyadh Metro is planned for 2019.
