The third phase of a project to build a convention centre, offices, hotel and food court in Dubai's Jebel Ali Freezone is under way.
Named JAFZA (Jebel Ali Freezone Authority) CVC, the scheme is being constructed on a 72,700m2 plot, with a total built-up area of 370,000m2.
ETA Engineering is carrying out the AED500m ($136m) MEP works under a contract with main contractor Habtoor Leighton Group.
The second phase, which is in the process of wrapping up, included the fit out of one of the twin 34-storey office towers.
The third phase includes the completion of the second officer tower as well as the convention centre.
Overall, the project will consist of of 34 storey twin tower offices, a convention centre with associated exhibition centre, a 600-seat auditorium and catering area, data centre as well as 322 room four-star hotel. It will be supplemented by four levels of parking.
Lead consultant is Arenco. The client is Jebel Ali Freezone Authority (JAFZA).
