Logistics leaders due in Dubai for CILT convention

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport’s (CILT) International Convention takes place next week, from 13-16 September at Jumeirah Creekside Hotel, Dubai.

Themed 'Stronger Together: Global Strategies for Success in Logistics and Transport', the event provides an opportunity for world leaders of supply chain, logistics and transport and delegates from across the globe to discuss the latest industry issues

Last year’s event in Malaysia attracted more than 200 international delegates from around 30 different countries.

Those attending this year will engage in a varied programme of high-profile industry speakers and presentations throughout the four day convention.

There will also be a chance to participate in a mix of workshops and interactive sessions and networking opportunities with renowned international industry professionals.

The following speakers for the CILT International Convention 2015 have been confirmed:

  • Mahmood Al Bastaki, CEO, Dubai Trade
  • Mark Millar, Industry Expert, Writer, Presenter and Lecturer
  • Professor Chris Kissling, Academic, Consultant and Writer, Chair, CILT New Zealand Awards Commmittee
  • Dr John Webb, Head, School of Logistics and Maritime Studies, Bahrain Polytechnic
  • Jonathan James, Head of Freight Policies, Abu Dhabi Ministry of Transport

The first day of the convention features a Young Professionals Conference and Women in Logistics and Transport (WiLAT) Conference.

The themes for WiLAT’s conference are; mentoring, empowerment, leadership and entrepreneurship and will include presentations from some of the industry’s most inspirational women. The Young Professionals Conference will have professional speakers in attendance and specialist consultants who will advise teams of young professionals as they compete in interactive logistical challenges.

CILT young professionals and WiLAT members are entitled to a discount on booking and are advised to contact their CILT branch for further details.

Delegates attending the convention will be able to tour the award winning Jebel Ali Port as part of the package. This will take place on the final day, 16 September.
