Neptune join Jacob Bliksted's epic kite surfing mission
Neptune, an international risk management and maritime security company providing specialist security services, risk consultancy and training solutions, has sponsored Jacob Bliksted, who is kite surfing a minimum of 1,000km between Mozambique, Tanzania and Kenya.
Bliksted is undertaking the epic challenge to raise funds for African Development Solutions (Adeso) and the Mission to Seafarers.
In an emailed statement he said that he aims to “address some of the root causes of piracy, thereby contributing to a safer ocean for the benefit of local communities and international seafarers”.
“Neptune is proud to sponsor Jacob Bliksted Sørensen and his efforts to raise awareness of piracy in East Africa and its root causes. As of Day 23 (August 24th), Jacob was within sight of Mombasa and a very well deserved rest,” the maritime security company said in a statement.
Despite monsoon conditions in the region, Jacob and his team have made great progress, and this can be tracked on Neptune’s updated website: neptunemaritimesecurity.com.
The new-look website was created to better reflect the firm’s areas of business. Following client requests, Neptune has undertaken several large projects involving facility security ranging from port and terminal risk assessments to oil and gas security.
As part of the company’s ongoing commitment to deliver high quality security and risk management services, Neptune now offers a wide range of training and safety courses for both facility, onshore and offshore clients. Full details can be found on the website.
