Great expectations for Materials Handling Middle East
Renowned German companies from the intralogistics sector have signed up to make presentations at the 8th Materials Handling Middle East from 14 to 16 September 2015. As the hub between Asia, Europe and Africa, Dubai will once again be the central meeting place for the fields of materials handling, logistics and warehousing technology. Altogether, over 150 exhibitors from 17 countries will be presenting their innovative products and services at the fair.
Ahmed Pauwels, CEO of Messe Frankfurt Middle East, organisers of the fair at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, says, “FMCG, retail, pharmaceuticals, oil & gas, automotive and logistics are all sectors that rely on materials handling equipment to optimize productivity, from the storage, control, movement, and protection of products, through to their consumption and disposal. Continued development across these key sectors of the regional economy is increasing demand for high-quality materials handling systems and solutions, all of which will share centre-stage this year at Materials Handling Middle East 2015”
The aim of German exhibitors is to increase their business in the Middle East. In this connection, Dr Ralf Lüning, CEO of Unitechnik Systems GmbH, explains: “Dubai and the United Arab Emirates represent an outstanding platform for local and regional business. Dubai is rapidly expanding its position as a cargo hub and can boast very good connections with Saudi Arabia, another potential growth market. Unitechnik has been operating successfully in Dubai since 2004. There, we have important customers, with whom we have been doing business for many years. We are looking forward to the 8th Materials Handling. For us, it is the region’s foremost event for the sector.” Based in Wiehl, North Rhine-Westphalia, the Unitechnik Group operates worldwide and offers interdisciplinary automation solutions, including logistics systems and airport technology.
bwh Spezialkoffer GmbH based in the Westphalian town of Hörstel-Bevergern, will also present its products at the fair in Dubai. The company’s sales and marketing manager, Sven-Thorsten Buchweitz, says, “Market-leader bwh Spezialkoffer GmbH has been Germany’s biggest developer and manufacturer of special cases for industry, trade and the service sector for over 30 years. bwh stands for individual and very high quality solutions for very different fields and applications ‘made in Germany’. Our solutions not only help our customers to transport and protect their products but also to enhance them and present them adequately and individually. This always distinguishes them from their competitors and ensures even better sales. We are looking forward to the Materials Handling fair in Dubai where we anticipate meeting old contacts and friends again, as well as gaining new customers and partners thanks to our special products and new developments for the transport and logistics sector.”
SSI Schaefer, supplier and manufacturer of logistics systems, logistics software, workplace furnishings, warehousing technology and waste-disposal equipment, has been active and very successful in the Arabian market since 2001. Discussing his company’s participation, Matthias Höwer, General Manager, SSI Schaefer Systems International DWC LLC, says, “Materials Handling Middle East offers a great platform to local and international suppliers to present a wide range of products to the region. In the past years, our focus was to showcase new technologies and automated systems. At this year’s show, however, we are taking a step back and presenting a versatile R3000 multi-tier shelving solution, which is closer to our clients’ market demands.”
This year is the first time that Kärcher ZFE will be showing its range of cleaning equipment and systems at Materials Handling Middle East. Mohammed Mousa, Trade Marketing Executive, Kärcher FZE, has great expectations of the fair: “Our targets are to increase our sales through new orders and high-quality contacts at the fair; to present new products and series, to cultivate our relationships with existing customers and to gain a foothold in new markets or regions.” Additionally, he aims to make new business contacts, take soundings in the market, strengthen the image of the company and the brand in the sector and, last but not least, offer visitors professional development opportunities. A family-owned company, Kärcher is active all around the globe and the world market leader for cleaning systems.
