Abu Dhabi Airports Company has floated a tender for the expansion of Fujairah International Airport in the UAE.

The chosen contractor will be responsible for the development of airfield (runway/taxiway) systems, an air traffic control tower (ATC), and the design and build of the utilities infrastructure.

The full scope of works includes, but is not limited to: the construction of a parallel VFR runway; taxiways, including airfield and approach lighting systems; the upgrade and extension of the existing runway and connecting taxiways, including replacement of AGL and approach lighting systems; a new ATC tower, including NAVAIDS control systems; and a 33/11kV primary electrical substation and distribution network with all associated infrastructure.

The deadline for expressions of interest is 23 August, 2015.
