Pedestrians to face $270 Dubai Trolley crossing fine
by Neil Halligan
A new fine has been introduced for pedestrians who cross the Dubai Trolley track at the wrong place.
Signs have been erected in the vicinity of the track warning that pedestrians who cross at undesignated areas – areas other than the pedestrian crossing - will face a fine of AED1,000 ($270).
The world’s first hydrogen-powered trolley trams, Dubai Trolley operates in the Downtown Dubai area, initially connecting The Address Downtown Dubai, Vida Downtown Dubai and Manzil Downtown Dubai hotels in its first phase that covers 1km with three stations.
The new transport mode, which operates on a hop-on, hop-off basis, will eventually span 7km across the entire breadth of the 500-acre Downtown Dubai, and connect attractions such as Burj Khalifa, The Dubai Mall, The Dubai Fountain, Souk Al Bahar and Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard.
