DMCC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (‘MoU’) with the Dubai Maritime City Authority to help promote Dubai to the maritime sector as a global destination for companies wanting to set up and expand into the GCC and MENA region.

The MoU provides a collaborative framework for DMCC Free Zone and Dubai Maritime City Authority to work toward this goal, and will also jointly explore the development and implementation of m-Government initiatives relevant to the maritime sector in Dubai in accordance with the Dubai Smart Government initiative.

In their first official collaboration following the MoU signing ceremony, DMCC will join DMCA at their stand at the Nor-shipping Trade Fair from June 2 to June 5 in Oslo, Norway to jointly promote Dubai as a business hub for the MENA region.

The signing ceremony was attended by the executive chairman of DMCC, Ahmed Bin Sulayem and Amer Ali, executive director, Dubai Maritime City Authority.

“This MoU is an important framework for DMCC. It reflects our strong support for the maritime sector in Dubai and is part of our ongoing efforts to promote Dubai and attract new companies to our free zone as well as delivering more ideas and innovative technologies to the maritime industry,” said Krysta Fox, head of free zone at DMCC.
