Gulftainer upgrades UAE IT infrastructure through Cisco
UAE-based port operator Gulftainer has deployed Cisco Network Infrastructure and Support Services in its UAE offices in order to enhance its offerings to customers and employees.
Gulftainer has completed installation of the latest Cisco end-to-end technology solutions in its UAE offices with further deployments to follow in other branches globally over next few years, the company said.
UAE operations for Gulftainer include the Khorfakkan Container Terminal (KCT) and the Sharjah Container Terminal (SCT), although the company's global presence spans across the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas with projects in Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Brazil and the United States.
The Cisco end-to-end technology that Gulftainer has deployed comprises Cisco switching, and routing solutions to deliver maximum uptime, high redundancy, high throughput, rapid deployment, enhanced access, and automated operations.
The new Cisco network infrastructure will help to vastly improve Gulftainer's response rates to customers in terms of system availability and productivity thereby facilitating improved customer satisfaction and enabling business growth, says Osama Zakaria Eissa, area sales manager for Cisco UAE.
"As a growing and expanding port management and logistics company with an ever increasing regional as well as global customer base, Gulftainer needed to be equipped with the latest state-of-the-art technology solutions,” said Vinay Sharma, group IT manager, Gulftainer.
"Cisco sees a unique opportunity to combine the latest technology innovations and end-to-end solutions to enable customers like Gulftainer to more efficiently and quickly capture market opportunities in entirely new ways,” Eissa added.
