Industry leaders to speak at M&PME conference in Dubai

Inaugural M&PME conference to focus on region’s maritime industry.


The first ever Maritime & Ports Middle East Conference will take place in Dubai next week, bringing industry leaders from the region and beyond to share their thought and insights on how Dubai is positioning itself to become a global maritime hub.

On 10th December more than 100 of the leading maritime professionals and partners from across the Middle East will attend the Maritime & Ports Middle East Conference 2014, which is hosted under the patronage of the Dubai Maritime City Authority.

The inaugural event is a unique platform for the Middle East’s maritime leaders to network, discuss, debate and understand the objectives and opportunities that the next two decades will bring in line with the Dubai Maritime Sector Strategy and the Dubai Maritime Vision 2030 which outlines plans to create a vibrant and safe maritime environment and establish Dubai as a leading global maritime hub.

The Dubai Maritime Vision 2030 is of strategic significance as it underpins efforts to improve the local maritime sector, it also emphasises how the competitive potentials of Dubai place it among the leading logistics and maritime centres in the Middle East and North Africa region and in the whole world.

Industry leaders will discuss how Dubai’s huge growth opportunities provide a positive outlook for Dubai’s Maritime sector in the next few years.

Amer Ali, the Executive Director of the DMCA will give the keynote address. Presentations will also be made by representatives of DP World, Dubai Trade, Braemar, Sanmar, Clyde & Co. and other leading maritime companies and organisations.

The event will also feature several high-profile panel discussions covering topics such as The Role of Maritime Clusters in Strengthening the UAE Maritime Industry and How to Enhance the Level of Talent within the Maritime Sector.

Attendance is by invitation only, and is strictly managed to ensure all attendees are in senior executive positions responsible for managing their operations.

This provides delegates with an unrivalled networking opportunity and the chance to discuss the issues of the day with their peers.
