Dubai Int'l freight volume falls by over 6% in October
Freight volume at Dubai International Airport fell by 6.2 percent from a year earlier in October to 195,824 tonnes.
Volume in the first 10 months of this year was down 2.2 percent to 1.96 million tonnes, according to operator Dubai Airports.
Pure cargo flights moved from Dubai International to the emirate's other main airport, Al Maktoum International, earlier this year.
Passenger traffic however is on the rise with Paul Griffiths, chief executive of Dubai Airports, saying Dubai International is on track to exceed 71 million passengers this year and is in close competition with London's Heathrow airport to be the world's busiest international airport in 2014.
