Tristar honoured for its CSR commitment
Dubai-based Tristar Transport has received the Dubai Chamber CSR Label on its first application and was honoured along with 13 other companies last week by Hisham Al Shirawi, second vice chairman, Dubai Chamber.
Shirawi commented that Tristar is dedicated to integrating CSR into its governance and strategy.
The CSR Label provides a free diagnostic framework that helps a company assess its current CSR contribution. It is also a learning and development tool that helps companies define and improve their CSR strategy, policies and management practices.
Tristar chief sustainability officer Muhammad Akber received the CSR Label certificate on behalf of group CEO Eugene Mayne and some members of the Tristar Steering Committee also attended the ceremony.
In a recent interview with Logistics Middle East, Mayne highlighted the importance of making CSR initiatives a priority.
He said: “I believe that it is private sector companies like us that can do a lot for the community and the environment. If all private sector companies became responsible businesses, we could make a real difference. Tristar fosters a culture of giving back and personally I like to do things for people, so I incorporate that into the business.”
