New ADPC app makes port pass applications fast and easy
Abu Dhabi Ports Company has launched a new mobile application to accelerate approved access to its ports.
The “ADPC Port Pass”, which is available in Arabic and English, allows users to quickly submit an application for an electronic port pass (e-pass) and to track its status at any time of the day.
Once the application has been approved, the user receives an instant notification to proceed and collect the pass from the relevant port office.
The new mobile app will benefit customers, stakeholders and contractors working in the port. It will also ease the process for more than 700 truck drivers who visit ADPC’s ports every day, potentially speeding up the time it takes them to drop off or collect a container or cargo from the port.
The launch of the mobile app also ties in with the inauguration of the new service centre at Khalifa Port (building 3).
The new centre has dedicated service desks, a VIP lounge and a business area with free WIFI and high tech screens, showing images of ADPC’s ports with important health and safety instructions to be followed on the port site.
By offering new service experiences, either onsite or online via the new mobile app, ADPC is demonstrating its focus on creating visitor-friendly environments and making documentation processes for its numerous daily guests more transparent, faster and easier.
“ADPC is focused on improving its customer business experience in all of our ports. The new app is a time effective tool that will ease an important process for our customers and enable them to get in touch with us where and whenever it suits them best”, says Sultan Al Jaberi, VP Regulations, HSE and Security, ADPC.
Prior to the application process, the user is required to register and open a personal ADPC account. Here, the user’s details are saved to make future applications even more convenient. The account also provides an application history of all the port gate passes applied for.
Furthermore, the personal account allows the user to submit any document necessary for application processes online, significantly reducing the amount of paper usage while supporting ADPC’s green office policy.
The mobile app has other features including an “About us” section with a short introduction to the port pass, a “Tell a friend” section to share it with others, and a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section providing regularly updated answers to port pass related queries including information on payment options.
The new app, which can be used on iOS mobile devices, is integrated in ADPC’s online e-pass application system and can be downloaded from apple store and google play. Once the development phase II is completed, the app will also be available for Android mobile phones.
