Multi-crew pilot licence forum to be held in Jordan
The Middle East's first Multi-Crew Pilot Licence (MPL) forum will be held in Aqaba, Jordan in May.
The event will be organised by the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC) of Jordan, the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the flight training organisation group, FTO holdings, and its sister company, Ayla Aviation Academy.
MPL is a modern training programme, established by the International Civil Aviation Organisation in November 2006. The four part course is designed to give students the aeronautical knowledge found in existing programmes as well as additional training in airline related modules, such as cockpit resource management.
The CARC is in the process of certifying the programme through its MPL committee, in collaboration with the local aviation industry. Experts will be present at the conference to address the implementation of the new licence and encourage discussion between regulators, airlines and FTOs.
