ISO accreditation for Gulf Petrochem Fujairah terminal
Gulf Petrochem Groups has been endorced by TUV Nord for its Fujairah terminal achieving global standards for quality, occupational health, safety and environmental policies.
The ISO accreditation will help the integrated energy company expand the capabilities of its Fujairah terminal to handle crude oil and increase its storage capacity to over one million cbm, in line with industry standards.
German-based Classification Agency TUV Nord was engaged to audit Gulf Petrochem’s compliance in March 2014 and subsequently awarded the Fujairah oil terminal with Quality Management System ISO 9001:2008, Environment Management System ISO 14001:2004 and Occupational Health and Safety Management System BS OHSAS 18001:2007.
The review was requested by Gulf Petrochem.
Sudhir Goyel, managing director and co-founder of Gulf Petrochem, said: “This achievement is conclusive evidence that the company is enhancing its facilities in Fujairah under world-class requirements, which will contribute to maintaining a sustainable environment.
“Gulf Petrochem will continue to prioritise health and occupational safety, maximise the efficiency of its performance, and showcase its ability in downstream and midstream through adopting effective controls to cope with risk, which conform to the policy and procedures that ISO certification demands.”
