Plans for the further development of Dubai's newest airport have been approved by the Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid.

Sheikh Mohammed, who is also Vice President and Prime Minister, signed off on the plans for Al Maktoum International Airport, which will be one of the key hubs for Expo 2020.

The new project will be implemented in two phases, covering 56 square kilometres of Jebel Ali.
