Runaway car forced to crash into RAK police
A woman in Ras Al Khaimah who found her car stuck in cruise control mode at 120kmph has been forced to crash into police cars in order to stop the vehicle.
This is the third incident of its kind to take place in the emirate.
Brigadier Ghanem Ahmed Ghanem, director of central operations at RAK Police, said traffic patrol vehicles, ambulance and rescue teams, and police patrols from Umm Al Quwain, rushed to the the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed road and created a corridor for the vehicle in order to stop it crashing into other cars.
On an open stretch of clear road, two police cars drove in front of the runaway vehicle and allowed the driver to hit them, with the impact causing her car to slow down.
The driver escaped with minor injuries.
