Aramex doubles its support to start-ups

Logistics solutions provider Aramex has teamed up with two regional companies to improve shipping and collection services for start-ups and SMEs.
The first collaboration is with Infofort – a regional records and information management solution provider. Together they aim to resolve logistics and shipping challenges often faced by region SMEs through a new programme that offers special shipping, logistics and document management rates, as well as training and mentoring services.
Businesses can enrol in the programme by contacting Aramex directly, or by by being referred through the local chamber or a local partner, and will need to commit to shipping a certain number of items per quarter.
Once start-ups begin working with Aramex, they will be assigned a team that will help them with their shipping and logistics needs from customs, payments, to shipping rates and times.
Aramex’s second joint venture is with InPost – a parcel lockers network, which will ensure consumers across the Middle East and Africa are able to access private automated parcel lockers for all e-commerce activities.
The move will support the development of the region’s rapidly growing e-commerce industry, which in the UAE alone is currently valued at over $2.9 billion, by providing online businesses and consumers with an innovative solution for sending and receiving packages.
Through these automated self-service terminals, e-retailers will be able to send goods ordered online direct to parcel lockers, whilst customers will be able to collect their e-shopping at preselected terminals at their leisure.
Aramex and InPost expect to formally launch the new service towards the end of 2014.
