ISO honour for Saudi Arabia's AFG Logistics
The International Standards Organisation (ISO) has awarded its 9001:2000 certification to Abdullah Fouad Group Logistics (AFGL) in Saudi Arabia.
The acknowledgement is expected to boost the warehousing operations of AGFL, which currently provides inhouse logistics services for its parent company Abdullah Fouad Holdings.
"Following the insertion of Saudi Arabia in the World Trade Organisation, we believe the only companies that will survive in the near future will be those that are customer focused, competitive and meet worldclass standards," said Sheikh Abdul Hai, logistics director, Abdulla Fouad Holdings.
"Receiving the ISO certification is a milestone in the history of our company and followed a meticulous evaluation process, which required the enthusiasm and commitment of the whole team. A range of activities were analysed before we received this acknowledgement, including our inventory management, freight consolidation, order processing and security measures," he added.
The certification is also expected to reinforce AFGL's proposed entry into the third party logistics sector in Saudi Arabia, which is planned for later this year. "Abdulla Fouad Holding is continuously striving for excellence within its entire portfolio of business operations. We have a vision to diversify into the market for third party logistics in the Kingdom and will be making an official announcement in the near future," added Hai.
